THE BRIEF, THE BUILD, THE PAYOFF.

Opening With a Sense of Place

Opening With a Sense of Place

The Mayor’s Design Awards celebrate the projects, people, and ideas that contribute to Denver’s built environment and the way people experience the city.

For the 2025 awards, we created an opening film designed to set the tone for the event before the first award was presented — introducing the evening through the places, details, and design thinking being celebrated across Denver.

Designed for the Room

Designed for the Room

An opening film has a different job than a traditional brand or documentary piece. It needs to work in a specific moment: bringing a room together, creating energy, and preparing an audience for what comes next.

We approached the film with that experience in mind, building a visual rhythm around Denver’s architecture, public spaces, design details, and the work being recognized that year.

The goal was to create something that felt connected to the city itself while giving the awards ceremony a clear visual beginning.

Celebrating a City by Design

Celebrating a City by Design

The finished film opened the 2025 Mayor’s Design Awards and introduced an evening centered on the people and projects helping shape Denver.

Rather than explaining every project before the ceremony began, the film created a shared sense of place — giving the audience a visual introduction to the ideas of design, community, and placemaking that connected the work being celebrated.

It was built to do one thing well: open the room and let the city take the stage.

Panamericana Media brought a thoughtful and creative approach to telling the story of Denver’s built environment and the people behind it. They understood the vision for the project and translated it into a polished, engaging piece that felt true to the City and the communities we serve. Throughout the process, their team was collaborative, responsive, and attentive to the details that mattered to us.
